Undistracted: Finding Rest in Joyful Devotion to Jesus

It’s been said we’ve all got the same 24 hours as Beyoncé.

While that’s true, the lie culture has been conditioning us to believes is that we must do more, move faster, hustle harder and go bigger to have a meaningful life.

Though we’re the most technologically advanced generation in history, we’re also the most lonely, anxious, depressed, insecure and exhausted.

But what if the remedy to our restlessness isn’t found in stuffing our schedules, but emptying our souls before the God who made us?

What if our significance is found in our being rather than our doing?

I’d love to invite you to join me + the Worthy Crew Community for Undistracted: 7 days of prayer and fasting from all screens to find rest in joyful devotion to Jesus!

FASTING GUIDELINES

We tend to overcomplicate things, but this fast is all about simplicity and returning to the basic essentials of cultivating a relationship with Jesus.

Though simple, it likely will not be easy, but will definitely be worth it.

TURN AWAY FROM SCREENS

Lay down your phone, and any device or screen that’s your go-to for comfort, escape or entertainment.

Try keeping text convos to a minimum, as our aim is to realign our senses, our soul’s affections and our mind’s attention upon God and off of every lesser pleasure.

BEHOLD GOD

Make space in your schedule to read the recommended Bible passages daily + think them over throughout the day.

We’ll be meeting for virtual prayer daily at 6pm PST/8pm CST/9pm EST/11pm Brasilia via Zoom (replays will be available on Youtube). Also spend your own dedicated time in prayer (even set a timer if you need to).

Whenever you feel the urge to pick up your phone or turn to a screen, turn to God instead. Be raw with him about how you’re feeling + what he’s revealing to you about himself.

Jot down insights you’re discovering or actions God is leading you to take. Feel free to share them in our GroupMe community chat!

EMBRACE STILLNESS + PRESENCE

Be where your feet are! Be intentional about slowing down your pace, embracing the quiet + being fully engaged with every moment of your life.

You may wrestle with boredom or may even feel initially anxious when intrusive thoughts/feelings arise, but that’s either the suppressed feelings of your heart trying to get your attention or the enemy trying to meddle with you. Whatever the case, cling to God’s truth instead and take every one of those thoughts/feelings to him in prayer.

**Side note: Keep your fasting secret. Don’t go tellin’ everybody you’re fasting. God says what we do in secret for him, He’ll reward when we don’t try to flex about our fasting in front of others (Matthew 6:16-18).

We are made to know + love God. And I pray that as you lay down every lesser love that this fast rekindles the flame of your heart for the Lover of Your Soul.

The Turnaround: a fast for the uprising of warrior women

There’s an army God is calling off the benches, out of the shadows and away from the sidelines to step forward onto the frontlines in this next season. And I believe it’s us, the women, that God is inviting to be part of seeing His will, His power and His kingdom invade the earth! And that includes YOU!

God is calling for His daughters to be deliverers!

But we’ve also got to be set free of some stuff and wage war on the enemies within before we can conquer in the world around us. Follow this 3-day fast guide and tune into our online prayer meetups to seek God for a mighty turnaround to take place both in us and through us!

fasting guidelines

  • NO food or water from 6PM - 6AM. And when you do eat/drink, keep it light + healthy, avoiding all sugars/sweets.

  • Read the Bible daily + study the recommended verses (available in blog posts below)

  • Tune in to community prayer on our Youtube channel (replays also available in blog posts below)

  • Tune out the noise of the world (social media, tv, movies, busyness) so you can remain open + sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s voice. Keeping a journal to jot down dreams, revelations + instructions you receive from God in this time is crucial.

  • Keep it secret. Don’t go tellin’ everybody you’re fasting. God says what we do in secret for him, He’ll reward when we don’t try to flex about our fasting in front of others. (Matthew 6:16-18).
